 | | Discover one of the top birding locations in New Brunswick, right here on the Kennebecasis river in the heart of Hampton. The Kennebecasis river valley will be sure to pique the interest of any recreational or serious birdwatcher. The osprey nest is one of the many attractions that keeps our fans coming back for more. A friend and I were so lucky to watch a river of red winged black birds float overhead from one grassy bank to another. We see the great Blue Heron from early spring to late fall. The lastest in the year sighting was Nov 13th 2007. Other sightings have been Osprey, Bald Eagles, Kingfisher, Waxwings, Geese and all manner of waterfowl. And don’t forget the vultures (Turkey of course!). | | | | Bird formations of many varieties can be seen on a regular basis. Other wild life spotted on and in the river includes deer, beaver, muskrat, red fox, stripe bass, small mouth bass, sturgeon, sunfish, pickerel, perch, white fish and the black cat fish. | | | |
| The osprey produced two babies this year. | | |
